SRWC at CSULB in 2011

Chawin Oak Mahavan takes a picture of golden shovels before the groundbreaking ceremony for Cal State Long Beach’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center on January 30, 2009. The Center (SRWC) will be a 120,000 square foot facility with fitness programs, aerobic classes, rock climbing walls and eight basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. The program is being funded through a fee increase that students voted to impose upon themselves. The center is slated to open in 2011. See more pictures / buy reprints>>

Octuplets Still Here

A woman in Bellflower had eight babies yesterday. Thats all we know. The woman does not want her name or any other information about her released, and rumor has it she wants money to photograph the children. Sure, she wants her privacy, but that won’t stop the hospital from getting its PR. I guess that’s why Kaiser Bellflower held a second press conference to tell the media that nothing had changed and they had no new information. In this picture Dr. Karen Maples, Chief of Service, Obstetrics and Gynecology is all smiles after talking to the media press conference.

Pictures of Obama

With the inauguration coming tomorrow I thought I’d put together some pictures I’ve taken of the President-Elect. This slideshow contains pictures from the DNC in Denver last August and the California Democratic Convention in San Diego in 2007.

Meet the President

Meet the President…well not the President, but a president. This is President Morgan-Barnes – thats right – her first name is President. You can see pictures of her and some of the 50 other people who took part in a candlelight vigil to kick off Peace Week in the neighborhood around Martin Luther King on January 10, 2009. Councilman Dee Andrews and the city’s Human Dignity Program are pushing more than a week of activities leading up to the MLK Parade on January 17. See more pictures>>
