J.D. Tone and his 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria in Fountain Valley.

“I wanted a driver, but I wanted it really nice,” Tone, a retired electrician, says, noting that he’s fixed some minor issues and added dual 4-barrel carburetors to the car’s 292 V-8. Tone does the mechanical work himself and also wrenches on a race car his son runs at Perris Auto Speedway.
